We are delighted to be hosting our first ever charity event! All money raised from ticket sales will be donated to the Lower Moss Wood Animal Hospital, Knutsford, Cheshire.
Lower Moss Wood is a private nature reserve and animal hospital and has been providing care and rehabilitation for sick and injured wildlife for over 30 years – at a running cost of over £60,000 per year – generated entirely from donations and fundraising activities. Desperate for money to be able continue their superbly dedicated work, they are allowing rare and limited access to the public so we can host this event in order for us to raise vitally required funds.
You'll have to be quick to book onto this event as drives are limited in number – you'll be glad you did! This is a unique event, tailored to the venue and accounting for it's precious nature and limitations – please read carefully.
You will enjoy 1.5 hours on the nature reserve and experience it's breath-taking beauty, learning to appreciate why it is a true haven and sanctuary for wildlife. Your time will be spent enjoying 2 main activities, with a little spare time afterwards for you to choose to enjoy refreshments in the Reception Centre – where you will be greeted by serval members of the wildlife that are now permanently homed at Lower Moss Wood. Money raised through a refreshment service will all go towards funding the hospital.
Activities One: A 25-minute (approx.) Mini Land Rover Driving Experience
Your Little Explorer will take the wheel of their own Little Landy and go on a drive that will feel as good as any off-road rainforest track, in this exciting driving adventure.
The carefully considered driving route has been chosen to incorporating some exciting features of the reserve that your Little Explorer will enjoy navigating and which will test their driving skill, whilst remaining respectful to the environment and keeping disruption to a minimum.
You will complete two laps. Up to two children may ride in the car, and up to two adults may accompany the vehicle on the day.
Let your Little Explorer know what a great job you think they did, and take home the ultimate souvenir of your adventure, by having us present them with their own personalised driving license.
Driving licences can be purchased on the day for an additional £6 (cash only – no card machine signal on the reserve) Licenses may also be purchased for younger passengers.
Activity Two: 25-minute Pond-Dipping
Lower Moss Wood is home to a spectacular large pond that is home to a wide variety of pondlife. On completion of your drive, take a mindful walk back through the woodland to discover the pond area where a pond-dipping kit including net, tray, tubs and identification chart will be laid out waiting for you to use. There will also be a volunteer waiting to answer any questions about the watery critters you catch! This is a stunningly beautiful area of the reserve – which is more a mini lake than a pond. You'll thoroughly enjoy your time here.
Taking into account the minutes it will take to get to walk in between the activities, you will the have approximately 30 minutes to chat about the fun you've had, a cuppa or cold drink and piece of delicious home-made cake, in the Reception Centre. Colouring sheets will be out on the tables for children to enjoy and volunteers will be bringing in some of the owls to meet you. Remember, all money raised through refreshments will also go to the animal hospital.

1. There must be a minimum of one adult to supervise each vehicle in your booking.
2. The accompanying adult must be able to keep-up with the vehicle at all times to provide constant supervision and to be able to assistance if needs be. In this instance, a team member will provide the additional supervision throughout the driving experience (for two full laps).
3. Strictly no dogs are allowed on-site
4. We have set the minimum driving age at 5 years old. Each vehicle weighs 200kg and unlike other vehicles of a similar nature that children may be used to driving, such as quad bikes, these vehicles are not power assisted, so as well as being heavy, they are tough to steer.
5. No adults or children above the maximum driving age are allowed to sit in or on the vehicle, completely or incompletely, at any time.
6. No auto shut-off button is distributed to supervising adults during this event

8. In the unlikely event that staff witness behaviour that is not compliant with the Activity Participation Agreement, Mini Off-Rovers will stop the experience with immediate effect. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.
