Our Mini Off-Road Driving Experiences for children make the perfect gift – the memories of which will last far beyond the occasion. Gifting a Mini Off-Rovers experience will give your young recipient the opportunity of experiencing the thrill of being in the driving seat of their own mini Land Rover replica vehicle and navigating the exciting and challenging terrain that will put their skills to the test. Our mini Land Rover experiences are unique because the freedom, independence and trust we give our young drivers is unparalleled. This means the fun and adventurous nature of our experiences are unrivalled too!
Our off-road driving experience is a 30 minute exploration of the Capesthorne Hall Estate in Macclesfield for children 5-9 years old. This beautiful and historic estate offers the ideal landscape for our experiences providing an exciting variety of naturally stunning landscape through which the children will drive, including woodland and wider parkland.
What's Included in the cost of the experience?
The cost of your experience includes a 30 minute drive in one of our mini electric Land Rover vehicles, plus a further 10 minute practice time.
This vehicle can hold up to two occupants – one driver and one younger passenger
It also includes entry for up to 2 adults and 2 children (driver + younger sibling) into the Capesthorne Hall Estate. Normally, the entry fee for a family of four is £23 (family ticket) alone.
Once on the estate, you are also welcome to complete any other free trial activities that are running, free-of-charge.
Passengers DO NOT require a gift voucher, only drivers. We do not need details of passengers.
What happens once I have purchased a gift voucher?
Once you have purchased a voucher, a receipt of purchase will be sent to the email address provided.
We shall then send a beautifully branded gift voucher in the post to the address provided (usually the purchaser's) which will detail a unique booking reference number and expiry date. The 'To' and 'From' fields on the voucher will be left blank for you to complete in your own handwriting to make them more personal – unless you have asked us to send directly to the recipient, in which case, we shall complete those on your behalf. The voucher will also be accompanied with a welcome letter, information on how to redeem the voucher, some of our reviews to get them excited about their experience, and a copy of our Activity Participation Agreement, so the recipient family is assured that safety is our top priority. The recipient family do not require the proof of booking that you will have received via email.
Vouchers will be valid for 12 months.
Vouchers can be redeemed against any of our experiences at Capesthorne Hall, including our themed and driving licence events.

IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION
Please read. By making a booking you are confirming you have read and understood the following:
This is a driving experience for children. Each mini Land Rover holds 1 driver, 5-9 years-old (inclusive) & 1 passenger, 2-4 years-old (inclusive). Strictly no adults or children over 9 years-old are allowed to drive on or in the vehicles. Please do not book one car for 2 children of driving age – they are not allowed to share driving – they will require a car each.
There MUST be ONE ADULT PER VEHICLE in your booking attending on the day.
The accompanying adult must be able to keep-up with the vehicle at all times to provide constant supervision and to be able to assist if need be. The accompanying adult must be able to manage a 30 minute fast-paced walk (very fast in places) in order to do so. This will mean that it may not be appropriate for one adult to bring a child of driving age plus younger siblings that require papooses/prams/pushchairs, as this will inhibit them from being able to keep-up with the vehicle. Younger siblings may also prove a distraction from being able to supervise adequately.
We shall refuse to allow a drive to commence if they do not have the appropriate level of adult supervision. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.
It may be inappropriate to bring along some breeds of dog that are not able to manage a fast-paced walk.
Children drive in an open landscape – no barriers, borders or confinement in anyway. En-route young drivers may drive close to the edge of embankments and water. Our routes have been risk assessed and determined by us as safe to complete for children of a minimum age of 5 years old.
Each child will be required to complete a driving practice prior to embarking on their off-road experience, to allow us to assess their capability at handling the vehicle. By age 5 years, most children can manage them, but height, strength, confidence, concentration and awareness also factor in their ability to be able to drive safely – both to themselves and others.
During the practice, children will have to, for example, demonstrate that they can follow our instruction, drive at a steady pace, be able to navigate around static objects and do an emergency stop. It is solely the decision of Mini Off-Rovers staff as to whether the child has completed the practice satisfactorily and is thus deemed capable of safely completing this experience. We must be as certain as we can be that each child we allow to embark on this experience will be able to remain in control of the vehicle throughout.
A driving practice will take place for a maximum of 10 mins. Sometimes a longer practice will result in a satisfactory demonstration of driving ability but this is not possible due to the timed-slots nature of this event. If a child is not given approval to complete the full experience, it may be rescheduled at the discretion of Mini Off-Rovers.
No adults or children above the maximum driving age are allowed to sit in or on the vehicle, completely or incompletely, at any time.
No auto shut-off button is distributed to supervising adults, a child has to be able to drive independently in order to complete this experience.
A parent will be required to sign a copy of our Activity Participation Agreement and a Liability Waiver before the experience commences. These are available to read prior to booking. Links to both can be on our Home Page.
If staff witness behaviour that is not compliant with the Activity Participation Agreement, Mini Off-Rovers will stop the experience with immediate effect. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.
In line with our T&Cs, no refunds shall be given for whatever reason 13 days or less prior to the event.
There is a £2 parking fee per vehicle – payable upon entry into the car park on the day to Capesthorne Hall
